Hi friends, during the weeks leading to Christmas our schedules got very busy with work and the normal holiday commitments, so we decided to go out of town for a weekend getaway. We went to the Fairmont Newport Beach. I’ve stayed at other Fairmont resorts before, so I anticipated a nice getaway…and that it was. The Christmas decorations throughout the hotel were festive, we enjoyed a nice dinner and a relaxing breakfast (also healthy) at their restaurant. I got a workout at the gym (which I really needed!) and was able to sit a while by the pool. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at a local Italian restaurant and did some Christmas shopping at Fashion Island mall.
Newport Beach is only about 90 minutes north of San Diego and about an hour south from Los Angeles, so if you want to enjoy a weekend getaway, the Fairmont may be a good option. We enjoyed our stay there! Hope you like the pictures I share below!
Have you been to Newport Beach or stayed at a Fairmont resort before? How was your experience?
Hugs,
Paola
This elaborate gingerbread house was the first thing we saw in the middle of the lobby entrance when we arrived….it was amazing!
There were holiday decorations throughout the hotel.
There was a coffee maker in the room and you know how much I love coffee! And a safe – always useful.
Score, there was a robe! I feel pampered when there is a robe in the room!
Do you recognize the red jacket from my previous post? I’m telling you, it is my favorite outfit of the season, I even wore it on this weekend trip!
This is the restaurant at the hotel, it is nice & has high ceilings.
Oh boy, did I enjoy this cup of coffee! There is something special about being able to sip a cup of coffee in a relaxing mode on weekends! Did you notice the cute mini pine tree on the table?
I chose the continental buffet – had a little fruit & a yummy parfait with berries! The granola had nuts with honey and was quite tasty!
The bar area.
The hotel has multiple sitting areas. I saw people just sitting and relaxing, others were watching TV, reading, or using their computers.
Can you find me in this pic?
I had the entire gym to myself. The TV monitor on the treadmill made the time I exercised go by fast, plus I had a view of the pool area. I also did some stretching exercises. Exercise energizes me and makes me feel good!
It was a bit chilly for Southern California, so there weren’t people swimming in the pool.
Seafood risotto for dinner, the best risotto I have ever had!
We went shopping at Fashion Island. We separated because we needed to go to different stores, so a passerby was nice enough to offer to take this pic of me in front of the tall Christmas tree (sorry it’s kind of blurry, but you get the idea, ha).
The line to take a picture with Santa was super long! Tis’ the season!
Wrapping our palm trees with Christmas lights is so Southern California…..and Hawaii and Florida! But, they look festive & nice!
The shops had Christmas decorations.
Of course, in Orange County you will find a Tesla shop at the mall. So OC 🙂
