As a fan of Sandra Bullock’s, I enjoy her movies and when I saw the movie trailer for Our Brand Is Crisis, I knew I wanted to see it. I worked in politics for several years, so I enjoy seeing movies and series based on politics, elections, and elected officials. It is amazing what happens behind closed doors in politics and this movie did not disappoint. The movie is based loosely on the documentary film by the same name, regarding the American political campaign strategy used in the 2002 Bolivian presidential election. It is a political dramedy, with lots of funny lines. It stars Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton, as political strategists working on the presidential campaigns for opposing candidates. Also in the movie are Joaquin Almeida and Anthony Mackie. The movie is produced by George Clooney. The role Bullock plays in the movie was originally planned for George Clooney (as a male), but when Sandra decided to participate in the movie, she was cast for the main starring role! Impressive….& good for Bullock! I saw the movie screening with my friend Lorena before it opened in theaters, we both enjoyed it, our jaws dropped with some of the scenes, which probably do happen at that level in political campaigns, and we also found ourselves laughing throughout the movie. Bullock and Thornton portray their roles exceptionally well! The only thing Lorena and I did not like about the movie was that it seemed to end sort of abruptly, but overall we enjoyed the movie and give it a thumbs up! Below is the movie trailer, you can find more information at Our Brand Is Crisis and on their Facebook page. The movie is rated R and playing in theaters now.

Hope you enjoy your weekend…& time at the movies!

Are you a Sandra Bullock fan? When was the last time you went to the movies?

Hugs,

Paola

PS – Looking for something fun to do this weekend, I visited the new Imaginate Exhibit at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (click here to see pictures) & recommend it! And, my review of the movie Sicario (click here), also playing in theaters right now (it’s an intense movie)!
