In the past, I have written about how I have learned to meditate and how helpful it has been for me. I haven’t shared much about a very difficult and emotional experience I had last summer, but I will share that meditation helped me. It helped me reduce my stress, anxiety, clear my mind, and feel better. It is amazing what breathing with intention and spending time trying to silence the mind can do for one’s health. I learned to mediate through reading, practice, and also with a 21 Day Mediation Experience offered by Oprah & Deepak Chopra. In the past year, I have done two of the Meditation experiences they offered and loved them! I have written about both these experiences: Manifesting True Success here & Expanding Your Happiness here. The benefits were so great for me that I have spoken about meditation to my friends and family, as well as during public speaking engagements. I wish I had learned to meditate years ago! Luckily and hopefully, I have many more years left to continue meditating and to learn this skill even further!

There will be another 21 Day FREE Mediation Experience titled Become What Your Believe starting on Monday, November 2. It is an audio meditation and can be done simply by connecting on-line. Registration is free! The last two times, I have listened to them on my IPad and IPhone. Mediation experiences and courses are sold for hundreds of dollars, it is wonderful Oprah and Deepak have teamed up to spread the word about the benefits of meditating and offer these for free!

The title of this mediation experience got me thinking and reflecting on my beliefs. Not only my religious beliefs and faith, but also my general beliefs. I have great faith and it has helped me many times in my life, and continues to be an important part of my daily life. Our beliefs are a large part of our life, they may guide the paths we take, and even the people we associate with. I tend to be a glass half full kind of a person and try to be positive. Thus, I tend to gravitate towards people with similar beliefs. I also try to be thankful for everything I have, tangible and more importantly intangible. I believe in appreciating everyday and trying to be present in the moment, especially when I am with family and friends, as challenging as this may be sometimes. I believe in the Golden Rule or Ethic of reciprocity: One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself. Among my beliefs are to do the right thing simply because it is the correct thing to do, in forgiveness, in not holding grudges and letting things go, in trying not to judge others, in sincerely wishing others well regardless of what they may wish for me, in living in peace, that people are generally good in nature (unless they prove otherwise), and several other beliefs. As the years have passed, I have learned many lessons I wish I knew when I was younger. But, such is life and sometimes these lessons are only learned through experience. I have lots of wise words from my grandmother, mom, husband, mentors, family, friends, and books I’ve read, as well as conferences I’ve attended, in my heart and ingrained in my mind. They help remind me of what is really important in life! They also seem to pop up in my mind just the moment I needed that reminder and those words of wisdom! I am excited to start this Meditation Experience next Monday!
