Life can be hectic! We have lots of responsibilities, we take care of our family, work, school, that list of things to do, social commitments, the list goes on and on. These things may cause us stress. It is important to also have some down time. To make time to simply relax. You can relax with your partner, family, or friends. Other times, we need “me time!” Time to ourselves, to connect with our thoughts, aspirations, goals, wishes, or simply reflect on our life and relax. A simple way to relax is to take a bath. Yes, a bath! Not a rushed, five minute shower, but a bath. I rarely take baths, but have been making an effort to try to take them more often, in the evenings or o weekends. Even a ten or fifteen minute bath seems to relax me more than a shower of the same length. The warm water relaxes my body and I am able to reflect on my day and sometimes my life. I try not to start a “things to do” list in my mind while I am enjoying the bath. I will add bubbles or bath salts to the water to make it a nicer experience, it just seems more fun this way! The bubbles add to the relaxing experience. I have a radio in the bathroom and will sometimes play relaxing music, but most of the time, I enjoy and appreciate the moments of silence. If I am feeling extra inspired, I’ll add a few candles in the bathroom & use a special scented body wash, to get in the relaxation ambiance. Somehow the bubbles, candles, and scented body wash make it seem like a more luxurious, spa-like experience. It reminds me of vacations at fancy hotels, when I have had the time to take longer baths. Next time you need a break and a little time to yourself, try taking a bath. Put the kids to bed, add bubbles to your bathtub, and just lay in the tub. Enjoy a little time to yourself….a little “me time”! You may be surprised how relaxed you feel afterwards and thankful that you made time for yourself!
Do you take baths? If yes, how often? Do you add bubbles?
Hugs,
Paola

One of our bathtubs at home.
One of the most memorable bathtubs I have taken a bath in! It is from our room at Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley, where we went for one of my birthday vacations (see pictures here).
The bath salts, and bay leaves and eucalyptus products I enjoyed at Calistoga Ranch.
The bathtub at the Ritz Laguna Niguel (see more pictures here). Such a fancy marble bathroom!
The bathtub at Sonnora Waldhotel in Germany (see pictures from our trip here).
The bathtub in our room at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas (see pictures from our get-away weekend here).
