Today’s Cup of Happiness: Ysenburg Art Werk

IMG_0840

This Ysenburg Art Werk mug set came to our home from Germany, via New York. My hubby lived in New York many years ago and this set of mugs was one of his purchases. When I asked him about it today, he said he bought it because it matched the decor of his home in New York. He didn’t recall that it was made in Germany (my hubby is German). The funny thing is, he rarely drinks coffee or tea, yet we have all these beautiful mugs, some of which he purchased. I don’t think he gave this mug much use as it still looks brand new. The Art Werk name is appropriate since it does look like a contemporary work of art.

In the past four years, I have used this mug only a few times, but not recently. It is narrow and tall. I was surprised that it holds about the same amount of coffee as my favorite mug, which is a plus. As I prepared coffee in this mug today, I realized that I will have to adjust the amount of almond milk & cinnamon I add to my daily coffee during this “Today’s Cup” experience, since the mug sizes vary. I am so used to using the same mug and have that one figured out to result in a delicious cup of joe every time. Luckily, I am still using our Saeco espresso machine and it makes one cup at a time, so that will help me estimate the coffee to milk ratio.

If you missed the first “Today’s Cup of Happiness” post, here’s a link. It explains why I am doing with this cup of joe experience.

Hugs,

Paola

PS – In case you are curious, this is one of my favorite mugs.
