There are lots of FREE events & several Día del Niño Celebrations this weekend! Here’a a list of some of the top events happening in San Diego County this weekend & in the coming days!   • MISSION FEDERAL ARTWALK: April 28-29, 11:00am – 6:00pm, in Little Italy, San Diego. This will be ArtWalk’s 34th annual celebration of arts and culture, which include the work of more than three hundred fine artists which will show and sell their work. There will also be a KidsWalk section with hands-on art experiences for children, live music, and food. Admission: Free. artwalksandiego.org
  • FERIA DIA DEL NINO (DAY OF THE CHILD FAIR): Sat, April 28, 11:00am -3:00pm, at Memorial Park (3rd Ave. & Park), Chula Vista. A Free Family event, with informational booths on resources to keep children safe, healthy, and well informed of services in the community. More than one hundred booths, fun activities, entertainment, face painting, performances, pupets, magic show, games, and more.  Admission: Free. chulavistacc.org
  • DIA DEL NINO AT SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK: April 29-30, 9:00am – 5:00pm, 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd., Escondido. The celebration includes crafts and activities throughout the park between 10:00am – 3:00pm, stilt walkers, Ballet Folklorico dancers, mariachis and other musicians, select bilingual animal shows, street tacos, tortas, sangfria, and more. Free children’s admission includes the Carousel and Africa Tram. Adult $54, Admission for children age 11 and younger is free when accompanied by an adult who has a valid form of Park entry. sdzsafaripark.org 
  • ART ALIVE AT SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF ART: April 27-29, 9:00am – 5:00pm. The Museum’s annual fundraiser and Floral Exhibition includes more than one hundred floral interpretations of art. There will be several events and hands-on art-making and interactive activities for children and families to enjoy. Admission to Floral Exhibition: Free for Museum members, $25 non-members, $5 youth (ages 7-17) sdmart.org
  • LINDA VISTA MULTICULTURAL FAIR & PARADE: Sat, April 28, 10:00am – 5:00pm (Parade 11:00am), at 6900 block of Linda Vista Rd, San Diego. This annual event includes numerous cultural exhibits, a variety of ethnic food, artistic performances, a kids zone, carnival zone, and fun for the entire family.   • ENCINITAS STREET FAIR: April 28-29, 9:00am – 5:00pm, HIghway 101 between D and J Streets, South Cost Hwy between D and J Streets. Families can enjoy more than 450 food, arts, and crafts vendors, four entertainment stages, and Kids Zone. There will also be a beer garden. Admission: Free. kennedyfaires.com/encinitas 
  • SAN DIEGO KIDS EXPO & FAIR: April 28-29, 10:00am – 5:00pm, at Del Mar Fairgrounds. See 150 local and national companies presenting products and services for children and families, from sports to dance schools, and more. The Indoor Expo includes exhibitor booths, dance performances, magic show, trackless train rides, activities for children, and more. The Outside fair includes Zip Lines, Euro Bungee, Human Hamster Ball, Lazer Tag, inflatable Playland, and more.   • ADAMS AVENUE UNPLUGGED: Sat, April 28, 12:00pm – 10:000pm, at Adams Avenue, from University Heights on the West through Normal Heights and into Kensington to the east.   • SAN DIEGO SHAKA FEST: Sat, April 28, 10:00am – 4:00pm, at De Anza Cove (San Diego Mission Bay). Shaka Fest is a Fusion of Hawaiian Culture, Arts, & Athletics! Enjoy a day of amazing events such as a youth-only canoe regatta, SUP race for adults and keiki’s, stages of da kine Hawaiian and Tahitian entertainment, your favorite boutique vendors, and island inspired food vendors.   • SAN DIEGO MAGAZINE BEST OF NORTH COUNTY PARTY: Sun, April 29, 4:00pm – 7:00pm, at Park Hyatt Aviara, Carlsbad. A celebration of the top restaurants, breweries, and businesses in North County, with live music, lounges, lawn games, and boutique pop-ups.   • MARITIME MUSEUM SAN DIEGO CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL: Sun, April 29, 10:0am – 4:00pm, at Maritime Museum, 1492 No. Harbor Dr., San Diego. Enjoy a delicious range of samples from dozens of vendors, cooking demonstrations, make your own chocolate pizza, chocolate pairings with wine and beer for adults, a scavenger hunt, and maritime dancers.
